It does not follow exact scientific protocol as it was designed with the lay person in mind. Some terms are used for simplified reference purposes, and are defined on the definition section accessed at the lower part of the form. Identification is easier if the following characteristics are noted: plant location in water, root structure if any, leaf shape, leaf position in water, leaf position as attached to plant, leaf margin, leaf vein pattern, stem shape, flower presence/absence and color, seeds, ect. |
