REGIONAL LAKE VICTORIA WATER HYACINTH MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

Since 1996, Clean Lakes, Inc. staff have working under Cooperative Agreement with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to support the countries of Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda in their water hyacinth management efforts.  Clean Lakes is providing technical assistance to all aspects of the program ranging from leading the Uganda EIA process in the mid 1990's to the development of a Water Hyacinth Monitoring Program  through a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the United States Geological Survey in 1999 to performing aquatic herbicide trials using US-EPA registered aquatic herbicides , to the most recent program efforts that deal with the establishment of the biological control program in Rwanda.
