TREATMENT NOTICE

An aquatic herbicide application to treat the aquatic weed Eurasian watermilfoil is planned for Lake Pend Oreille (Bonner County, Idaho) between the dates of September 4th and September 6th, 2013.  The aquatic herbicide Renovate (a liquid triclopyr, EPA Registration # 62719-37-67690) will be applied to up to 20 acres in Dover Bay Marina and Glengary Bay to control Eurasian watermilfoil.  Irrigation and drinking water restrictions will be in effect in the area until herbicide residue levels in the water are within levels specified by the herbicide label.  Home owners who use water from the lake for drinking or irrigation in and around these areas are advised to not use lake water until herbicide residue samples indicate it is acceptable to do so.  For up-to-date information about treatment plans and water use restrictions visit the applicator's website: www.cleanlake.com/2013idahoewmtreatments.html.

An aquatic herbicide application is planned for areas of Lake Pend Oreille between Wednesday September 4th and Friday September 6th, 2013.  The aquatic herbicide Renovate (a liquid triclopyr, EPA Registration # 62719-37-67690) will be applied to up to 20 acres in Dover Bay Marina and Glengary Bay to control Eurasian watermilfoil.

Water Use restrictions will be in effect for households utilizing water from the lake that are located in and around the treated areas until herbicide residues levels in the water are within levels specified by the herbicide label.   Refer to the applicator’s website below for up-to-date water use restriction information.  Restrictions on water use will be as follows:

  • Potable water:  Functioning potable water intakes must be turned off until triclopyr levels are determined to be 0.4 parts per million (ppm) or less by laboratory analysis.

  • Irrigation: Treated water may not be used for irrigation until triclopyr levels are determined to be 1 part per billion (ppb) or less by laboratory analysis (immunoassay).  There is no restriction on use of water from the treatment area to irrigate established grasses.

  • Recreational Use of Water in treatment Area: There are no restrictions on use of water in the treatment area for recreational purposes, including swimming and fishing.
See the website below for a detailed map indicating where restrictions will be in effect. Home owners near treatment areas who use water from the lake for drinking or irrigation are advised to not use lake water until herbicide residue samples indicate that levels in the water are within acceptable use levels specified by the herbicide label.  For up-to-date information about treatment and residue levels visit the applicator’s website at:
